O.M.G.... is all I can say! No matter the time of the year you decide to visit I'm sure your breath will be taken away! Free access to it all, parking, beach entrance. There is a park with swings and a volleyball net for the children as well as paddle boat rentals. A definite must-see even if your visiting alone.
let's see, the place is beautiful in winter and in summer but... the payment of $25 per adult person seems excessive and half for children to enjoy a beach, I understand that it is very beautiful and touristy but you have to adjust to a reality which is that in California families are made up of approximately 4 members. that's why I don't rate it at 5 ⭐️. It is not only to go and that the place is beautiful but also to see that it is respectful of the budget.
What a disappointment!
Despite the hype surrounding this beach destination, our experience fell short of expectations. Here's a critical review highlighting our concerns:
Overhyped and Overpriced:
One of the main disappointments we encountered at Lakeside Beach was the entrance fee. Charging $25 per person for beach access felt excessive and unjustifiable. The price did not align with the overall value and quality of the experience. Although the fee decreases to $10 per person after 5 pm, it remains unreasonably high for what the location has to offer.
Lackluster Location:
In terms of its location, Lakeside Beach failed to impress. While it does provide a view of Lake Tahoe, we found that there are numerous other spots in the vicinity that offer more breathtaking vistas for witnessing the stunning sunset. Considering the high entrance fee, we expected a more exceptional setting that would truly showcase the natural beauty of the area.
Better Alternatives for Sunset:
If you're seeking a memorable sunset experience at Lake Tahoe, we recommend exploring alternative locations. There are plenty of nearby beaches and viewpoints that offer equally stunning sunsets, often without the hefty entrance fee. Doing a bit of research or asking locals for recommendations can lead you to more rewarding options.
Lack of Amenities:
Another aspect that added to our disappointment was the lack of amenities provided at Lakeside Beach. While the beach itself is pleasant enough, there were limited facilities available, such as restroom facilities and convenient access to refreshments or dining options. These missing amenities detracted from the overall comfort and convenience of our visit. There are far better options like sand harbor beach, cave rock 🪨!
Nice beach, not too busy for a July weekend. Water is clear and just warm enough. Only thing is the sand is corse making it difficult to walk on. Not used to this kind of sand. Makes it difficult to enjoy. Area is not over crowded, plenty of places to sit down (picnic benches and chairs) ******You have to pay $25 for the whole day and pay $10.00 after 5:00pm. No alcohol and glass items. Hope this helps!
This beach is really clean with cleaned public restrooms but they have entry fees ( $25 adults/ $15 for kids) which is too much. But if you want to do water-sports then this is the right location. Last time we stayed nearby hotel and they gave us beach pass. They also have a restaurant so food won’t be a problem. It’s very clean and well maintained beach.
I really enjoyed this place. Yea there is a fee during certain times but it was clean, beautiful sand/water, amazing views and close to the main street with restaurants, casinos, etc. Very walkable which is a huge plus for me. I was even able to find a place to park my RV right by the beach while visiting (however my RV is a small 26 footer and I didn't try to stay overnight). I also think it's really cool how half the area is in Nevada and half is in California. I know I'm silly but, hey...you gotta enjoy the simple things in life.
Just the perfect spot to enjoy and relax.. Nice view and a beautiful place to visit. Parking on weekends it's crazy, during mid week there's plenty of parking
Fairly expensive to enter. You can purchase an all-day pass to enjoy your time if hot sand and cool waters is what you're looking for in South Lake Tahoe. If you have a hotel reservation it can be much cheaper. We came on a weekday so it was not crowded at all - very relaxing. We managed to grab some tacos to-go from a nearby restaurant, rode the electric Lime scooters to this private beach, and sat down to eat on our mat; it was one of the best things we did for ourselves (and yes, we cleaned up after). Would do it all again, but we're sure there's other hidden gems to explore around the Lake that's much cheaper.
